91 geo metro xfi 3 problems. 1. door ajar light always blink saying me...door is open...(I manually press that switch just in case door was not closing properly) 2. seat belt on driver side does not come on when we put the key in ignition and start the car 3. parking brake light does come on for a second but even though parking brake is engaged it does not stay on. Are all these problems inter connected ...i.e. one circuit...... how do I solve it? what is fuse no. for door ajar light on dash? what is fuse no. for seat belt light? and what is the fuse no. for parking brake light? |

1. Did you check door switches for both doors? 2. Is plug under driver seat plugged in? 3. Switch for parking brake most likely bad. All dash warning lights come on for a second when you turn key on. Then they go out. If it is not staying on when engaged, sending unit (switch at e-brake) is most likely bad. |

Hey Rob thanks.. 1. yes I did check and door switches...when I manually press the switch dome light goes off but door ajar light keeps flashing dome light going off is a proof that switch is ok is not it? I opened the door and replaced whole seat belt mechanism. 2. plug under driver seat plugged in...yes...it is..my problem is driver side seat belt light does not come on at all. not even when we turn the key on...may be that switch on instrument bezel is bad 3. I will check the e brake switch.. |

1. I'll have to check that out in person. If it bugs you, remove the bulb in dash. 2. If seat belt light never comes on, bulb in dash is probably bad, check it. 3. ok. |

instead removing bulb from dash ...I could disconnect the wire that goes from under dash (left to your left foot) to door...and it disables flashing.. ..do you think instrument cluster could be bad? |

The door ajar light is not a function of the dome light switch. I know this because my door ajar light works fine, but the dome light switch is broken. I'm guessing that the switch must be in the latching mechanism, but that is only a guess. |

13-04-2015 Hi, Today i took the car out for its first time. Winter was so hard and cold. It started fine. Perfect running. The problem ive had is as follows : The buckle up warning light would come on and off. That causes electrical mess with other functions. Also the chime (buzzer) would be heard but very badly... Even after complete insertion of the prong, it would come on and off same way. Sounds like a similar problem youve had. Ill check the seat belt insert box and check inside. BTW, whereis the sensor for that...and buzzer unit. do you know... Ok. ultimatew solution is wire cut off...under the seat. Would this problem related to the e brake sensor solenoid... TX and send me your replies asap. This problem must be solved as it messes my circuitry. |

The seat sensor has a plug. I've always left mine unplugged ever since I removed and replaced my seats. I don't need no stinkin' light to tell me to use my seat belt! Also, check your connections, and check your grounds...make sure they are clean. May help. On another note...remember the old Chryslers that had that nice, pleasant woman's voice saying "Your door is ajar"? Always wanted to replace that nice lady with someone a little more strident...think drill instructor. Also random comments like: "Your door is a pizza". Or maybe more appropriately 35 years later: "Your door is completely rusted through!". Edited by JoeBob, Apr 13 2015, 10:59 AM.

91 FSM Suzuki Swift 1.3 9-56: Cancelling Lock Function of Retractor When the door is opened, the retractor senses its vibration and locks the webbing. Then the door is not allowed to open any further. To prevent this from occurring, the retractor lock function is cancelled as follows. When the door is opened, the door latch switch closes ("ON"). Receiving such "ON" signal, the control module allows electricity to flow to the retractor solenoids and the seat belt lock is cancelled. The FSM goes into more detail, but it comes down to door latch switch, seat belt retractor lock, control module or wiring between. Edited by solerpower, Apr 13 2015, 06:09 PM.

Where does the cable under the seat plug in? Mine was unplugged when I bought my car and when I looked under the seat I didn't see a plug for it. |

Should be coming out of the hole in the carpet in the middle of the seat roughly. It is connected into the driver side lower interior body wiring harness. If you don't see it, it might simply be wedged underneath the carpet. It can't go to far, unless someone cut it off. |

Thanks, yeah I found it right there, I wouldn't have thought to look(or rather feel) under the carpet. One less issue
