how do you get rid of sludge ,i see it all over the top end ,when we took the valve cover off. its THICK. |

There's products like Auto-RX, that contain kerosene like additives for a few miles to clean and loosen build up. Add it to the crank-case, follow directions, then drain and do an oil change.

Are you rebuilding the engine so you could take the various parts to a machine shop and have them placed in a cleaning tank or are you trying to clean one while still in the car? |
