My timing cover has warped and rubs on timing belt, water pump pulley, and alternator belt. Where can I get one? |

Problem with tossing it is that the ignition timing scale is a part of the timing belt cover. That may not be a problem for some but I like to use the scale when I time my engine with a timing light. |

Thanks for all your input. Found one at the dealership for 57.00. Don't like the idea of running without one. Drive car all year, I am worried about road debrie getting in belt. Don't want to break or jump belt and smack valves in new head. Thanks again for all your help. |

If that bold underlined part is your only concern, you really don't have to worry about it, the engine is non-interference. Not getting debris in the belt is of course something else, although the members that run without a cover have never reported it happening, but that is something each has to decide for themselves |

I havent heard anyone breaking or jumping a timeing belt with out cover. I just don't want to be the first. $61.00 is cheap insurance. Did not know the engine was non interferance. I take it that since the pistons have depresions ground in them they won't smack the valves. I think I will sleep better at night with that cover. Thanks to all.
