It's not 30K, it's over 39K, that's almost 40K in taxes, lol.

No internship, you just got to work your ass off, know the right people, and have the knack to be a sales person.

I am the one on the left.

That sounds about right Starscream..., we've paid that much in taxes before, and it stinks.

Aren't you totally enjoying all the new regs that have come down? (and continue to come down)

My husband is a mortgage banker on the wholesale side. I like that its not commission anymore, but miss the big paychecks. That means that he's partially responsible for repackaging loans into mortgage backed securities. He likes it, and its very stable work. He did have to get the damn national licensing though, how about you, or were you lucky enough to be grandfathered in?

I had to get licensed as well (I think all Loan Officers nationwide were required), but the company paid for it all.

I'll be going on my President's Club trip in two days (a full weeks cruise through the Eastern Caribbeans!), I'll make sure to post up some pics when I return :)

I'm feeling you, Starscream. I didn't get quite that much, but did get more than I wanted. I figure if I'm getting money back, then I'm giving them too much to start with. :hmm

I've got two kids in college, so mine is practically spent as soon as I get it. :rasp

The sad thing is the applications I have filled out recently ask a question like this....
Do people get to where they are at because of hardwork or because of who they know?
You are suppose to answer hardwork.

but in reality here at college they push you to meet the successful people. Ceos and owners. They honestly preach hard work but the hidden message is that we have a person stopping by go shoot the shit with him. That is really more of what college is, a way to meet successful people and to get money. (with that being said, yes I do work hard and have close to a 4.0 average).

Really if it was only hard work that got you to succeed, then who would be our president/last several presidents.

Some middle-class man and we would probably be in much better shape than we are right now.
