Caveman easy.

Just but a new head gasket and head bolts. First time you do it you will scratch your head. It is very straight forward so don't get worried if you think you've done something wrong. Should take three hours if no major problems pop up.

I would keep the major components intact. Don't pull wires or hose off the intake manifold. Just unscrew it from the head. Same for the exhaust manifold.
So basically, take off both manifolds leaving throttle body intact and all the wiring? Sounds easy enough :rocker
Yep. Don't screw around with any wiring or vacuum hoses. Once you get the TBI/intake manifold off the head, just lay it next to the firewall.

One thing to think about is the rear main crank oil seal. If it hasn't been changed in your metros lifetime, now would be a good time to think about changing it out. You will need to pull the engine out of the car, OR you could pull the tranny out of the car to do this repair.

I am one who thinks anytime you crack open a metro's engine, it is a great time to take a little more time to do the grunt work. Throw in new front and rear crank seals along with a new cam seal. It isn't really, really necessary, but it is very good insurance. In for a penny, in for a pound. Now would be the best time to dig a little deeper into the engine instead of having to do it later. Plus, if you are going to pull the head, you will have to take the timing belt off. It is an excellent time to replace the front crank seal since the timing belt is off. Do it now or do it in six months. I vote for doing it now.

Good luck.

Head pulls right off.
Sure it does! :gamerz :shake :gamerz :banghead :gamerz :-/ :whistle :lol

Just take you time, be patient, and don't force things too much. :thumb

You can do it! :cheers

And we Love Pictures. :popcorn

In theory it comes right off. I grabbed my distributor in one hand and my sprocket in the other and gave it a steady, smooth pull.
