92 ( 72,000) with valves not working well. 2 valves have compression of 40 and 60 the other is 120 . not sure if I should find someone to rebuild head or get a remanufactured. Trying to find someone who wants to work on this engine in Phoenix AZ. My primary mechanic thinks it a throw away car. FAT CHANCE! I love my little pass you at the pump car. I have driven the car up and down a 5 mile mtn. that has a grade from sea level to 4000' and it gets up to 35 MPH. Need to find out what to do for the engine. Any direction would help out. Annabananna of Arizona Thanks for all your suggestions |

Well, there are several ways you could go, 3tech does heads for your car (there may be a wait but I don't want to speak for him, pm him and find out), also Geo Glenn may also have something up his sleeve but again can't speak for him and don't know his range, but am sure he'd chime in shortly if he has anything. Others that are available will be along with their own advice, the heads themselves aren't difficult to do, so tackling it yourself isn't out of the realm of possibility either, there are how-to guides aplenty on the boards, and parts sources to go with them (3tech again supplies stainless steel valves as well). If doing the head it is often suggested to do the bottom end more times than not so as to avoid having to go back in later and repeat opening it all up again, something to think about if the budget can stand it. Good luck which ever way you go. |

Look through Available Mechanics. Also take a look at Who Lives Where? for members in your area. We have had good success with the eBay rebuilt heads but as bogs says the 3Tech head would be superior. If you have the tools or can acquire them then doing it yourself is the way to go.
