Hello, unfortunately I finally have an occaison to register. My friend and I where on a short 300 mile road trip, bringing a load of stuff back with us. 45 miles from home (newhall for those who are familiar) we noticed the engine overheating, loss of power, and a weird clicking noise a couple times. The engine stalled just as we pulled to the side of the freeway. We waited 3 hours for the tow truck, and we noticed that when the engine was hot it would not start, but after it cooled off it started and sounded OK. We still waited for the tow truck. This morning we tried to start it and it ran fine, but when we turned it off it would not start again, or only run on one cylinder at best. It did backfire once also. We replaced the coil and it still only runs on one cylinder, but the other two are flooded so we are waiting for the gas to evaporate out of those to see if it will run with the new coil. Anybody got any ideas of what it could be because I am not holding my breath about the coil.

I would highly suggest a compression test on all the cylinders before you throw parts at it. There is a guide posted.
