Hey y'all!

I've spent the last few years (off and on) searching for something a little more fuel efficient than the diesel pickups I drive. Upon moving to Iowa from Omaha in 2007, I swapped out a 35+ mpg VW GTI for a GMC Sierra because I couldn't fit my new family (wife and her 3 kids) in a VW. My searching went on hiatus when I landed an in-town job with a mile-and-a half commute daily, but then I traded up for a job on the railroad, with my terminal 54 miles from home. 18 mpg on Diesel just wasn't cutting it ($400-$500 per month on fuel :smackface ), so I again went on the hunt for something small and efficient. I test drove a '95 4-door sedan that seemed like a good car until I got it on the highway and found a nasty shudder at highway speeds, which led me to my current new investment - a '92 LSi Convertible.

Sure, it idles a little rough, both rockers are rusted through, it could use a passenger door and a new top, but a day in the garage and all will be well!

... and wow, does it ever take up soooooooo much less space in my garage!

She's finally road ready (for me anyway)! New Cap, Rotor, Plugs, and oil change were done a week ago, and now a new sending unit for the non-functioning temp gauge. Idles a little rough, but once she gets going, she's fine.

The bad thing... I drove it on the highway bypass around town to test that temp gauge, and drove it like I stole it. In the time it took to get up to 60, I'd have been going 110 in my GTI...

The good thing, I needed to fill it up, and it was only $23.63 from just above the E. That is something my wallet likes!

I know... y'all like pics. It's a little too late for good ones right now, so watch that area as they'll be coming soon
