I have a 1.3L Geo Metro 2000 model, any one know how to test a fuel regulator?

I don't and I see that the Factory Service Manual is running $80 on eBay. EBay search results.

Without looking in the Factory Service Manual, off the top of my head, "T" into the fuel line that goes into the throttle body. The pressure should be around 20 or 21 ish. The FSM fully explains how to do.

Are you having a fuel pressure related issue?

The car (1.3L, EFI) starts fine cold but when trying to restart when warm it has to be cranked a few times to get it running. After it is started it runs great. I was suspecting the fuel pressure regulator.

that model and year uses a fuel rail with a fuel pressure regulator bolted on it's end. the fuel rail feeds each injector (it's mpfi.)

the fuel pressure regulators on those cars are fairly bullet proof. you're more likely to have a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. either way, you'll have to drop the tank and pull the fuel door off to get to whatever is bad.

to check fuel pressure you install a tee in the supply line and use a gauge to measure rail pressure. rail pressure will be line pressure minus the return line bleed off pressure.

fuel pressure regulators are still available from rockauto.com and you also have the option of using an aftermarket adjustable fuel pressure regulator to modify the failed stock regulator. blox adjustable regulator kits are available for $40.

still, i'd suspect the fuel pump first and injectors last before i'd suspect the fuel pressure regulator.

That sounds more like leaking injectors to me. Or maybe a bad temperature sensor telling the computer that the engine is always cold.
