I work in experimental, and run a 4 wheel chassis dyno. One of the problems we run into is keeping transmissions cool enough when "putting the snot to them". At least the splash lube gear transmissions. We used shop air to cool the case, but that only goes so far. So, we ordered a "Cooling Gun". I did not believe it would be very efficient, but it uses a venturi of some sorts, and the air that comes out the end was -26 degrees celsius! Just from shop air psi of around 100.! I thought that was pretty neat, so I figured I would share with you all!

We use them on our cnc mill at work instead of a liquid coolant - works great.

Used them a lot in the shipyard. Also works when sand blasting, back gouging, welding, etc. http://www.vortexair.biz/Cooling/Mancooling/mancooling.html They make a vest that the cool air blows though. Posted Image Posted Image :banana :banana :banana
