Are you a collector?; Types of collections.

Memphis metro

Just curious what types of collections some of the forum members have. I was thinking I would start me a collection of auto emblems. I removed a old V8 emblem from the grill of a old ford car in a field a few years ago. I think I will start collecting old car emblems. I enjoy looking at them and recalling those old cars. If you are a collector, what type of collection have you enjoyed gathering? Of course everyone on this forum is a metro collector. My father collected caps. Its neat looking at some of his old hats he kept over the years.

Yes sir. I have a large 200+ piece collection of random hubcaps! I find them when walking, or when I'm driving I pull over and throw it in the back (I dont steal them though). Stupid but fun. Had more (around 550) but I moved and was forced to leave some

wife loves to stop at thrift stores, garage sales, etc. I got nothing to do while she scrounges through junk, so I started collecting cups/saucers. got a couple hundred now. most bought for a nickle, dime each or a quarter per set. kinda surprised when i found that many are rare and some are valued at more than $25 per set.

I have always collected hardware. If I need a bolt that I dont have I find that a single one cost me a quarter but I can buy a pack of 6 for a buck then I throw 5 on the shelf "just in case I need one someday" --- for some of the stuff I have "someday" has not come in over 30 years :smackface

My main hobby is Lego, the building blocks. My collection is what occupies the garage while I work on the Metro in the driveway, it exceeds 100,000 pieces.

COOL!

I love antique radios! I have three of them. I just started out and I have no idea what I am doing, but the parts are cheap enough that I think I can learn as I go, provided I don't electrocute myself in the process. Got any pics of your radios?

Oh yeah, I also collect coins.

Dont really collect anything anymore.

Use to collect coins, die cast racecars and sports memorabilia.

Have almost every earnhardt car!....

Also bought a stan musial autograph very cheap because by the shop said it was stan mosiac. Lol

Back in the early-mid 80's I collected everything Billy Idol related. Posters, concert tickets, albums, cassette tapes, cds, etc. I still have about 10 of his albums that have never been opened and never played. I also collect Bibles and religious writings. Hebrew manuscripts, Greek New Testament, and old family Bibles dating back to the 1700's. I would say I collect Geos, as I have owned 20 at one time or another, but I pretty much sell them once I acquire them, not collect per se. My latest kick is 70's nostalgia. I was a fan of Elvis Presley, Evel Knievel, The Six Million Dollar Man, and Planet of the Apes, so I'm buying lunch boxes, posters, stuff like that. Not a major collection....just a few items here and there.

Good bye

I only have 4 Metros on the property but there are 6 in the family. Does that count, I am kind of afraid to bring any more home right now.
