He assures me he'll be back. In the mean time, he decided to sell me all his extra parts for $100. This is after he sold me his extra XFI engine for $50. So $150 bought me: An XFI long block (no intake or distributor ) and XFI transmission (115,000 miles) race007 at first pulled the head, and then went back for the block. Super clean but I can't find any obvious signs of a rebuild. There both very clean. I haven't pulled the pistons yet, but the cam is a true XFI; I measured. And the transmission is a true 3.79 as measured by the bench test. (Thanks again Wobblybob ) A new starter. A brand new, still in the box, 1.0 clutch kit. The speedometer from the XFI A multifunction switch with intermittent wipers A box of vert trim pieces A set of seat rails About half of a head gasket set. Assorted odds and ends. As you can image, I was total stoked when I got it all home But then..... it got better. Thursday I decided to check the pull-a-part website to see if there when any new "additions" I could not believe my eyes. A 1999 Metro, and only on the lot for two days! I got to the lot first thing Saturday morning. Went straight to the '99 and sure enough, it was a fairly unmolested 1.3 auto! I called LukeJ88 because I knew he needed some parts but he could not come down. I also called Freaky_1 but I could not get a hold of him. (Turns out he was busy with a big pile-up on I-59 ) I ended up spending the entire day on the lot. When I left, A little over $100 bought me, A PERFECT, COMPLETE dash with ALL trim, including air bag. The owner was a light smoker, but so far everything has cleaned up nicely. This is to replace the 1996 dash in Rudolph. An speedometer WITH a TACH! An multifunction switch with intermittent wipers An steering wheel air bag An alternator and a brand new (could not have more than 500 miles on it) water pump with a brand new timing belt tensioner (would have snagged the timing belt cover but it was already FUBAR ) Assorted odds and ends. This has been the best Geo Metro week since I brought Rudolph home

I will need to sell off some of the parts, but the engine and transmission are staying in my private collection. I won't be able to attend Geopalooza, But I am going to Geos on the Gulf. With the ~~addiction~~ addition of this: Link--->Cheap Android gadget to play with? $30 I am very quickly sinking into "new toy" overload.....
