Was at wally wally wally wally wally wally world tonight to get a few things. Came across the razor isle knowing i needed new blades for my gillette mach 3 razor. Lookat the price...WOW! 4 blades were around $16!!!! The electric ones were around $22 iirc. Now i do like that razor but not for that price. I think you can buy a new one with an extra blade for $10.. So i decided to try a different brand, shick hydro 5 power select. (electric). It was originally just under $9 but had a $5 off coupon! A 5 pack of razor heads are $10, so it didnt seem too bad. Also the razor came with a $3 off coupon on the blades. hopefully its a good substitue for the mach 3. What do you guys use? I tried dg fancy style.....it jacked my face up |

I have used a mach 3 since I was 14. I am 23 in a month. It's a really good razor. I was shaving for about a year with a straight edge and ebBing brush and mug with soap just for fun, but you can't really beat safety razors for ease of use. When you look at it, paying 3 or 4 dollars for a razor head isn't all too much when u take Into account that they last for several months, at least mine do. I also think it gets kinda ridiculous after 3 blades. I felt 2 blades gets clogged too fast since there are too few blades, and 4 and 5 blades clots too fast since the blades are so close and small. 3 is just right. I was using a Gillette fusion for a while and I didn't like it much. |

I've had my Fusion for about 5 years (same blade) and I still get a better shave then the new blades that I put on My Mach 3...? The blades are stupidly expensive but totally worth the money. I get no nicks or cuts with my old ass Fusion vs any other razor |

I can stretch a razor maybe three uses if I push it. I have very thick strong hair, and it just tears up razors. So I have a whole ordeal of using a cheap electric trimmer, followed by an electric razor, then a regular razor to smooth it. I shave maybe once a month now. Too expensive. |

I can usually make it 3-6 months on a blade depending on how often I shave. Usually 2-3 times a month |

Blades are crazy expensive. I started looking at the cost of the replacement razors before I bought a razor. I am not 100% on the name, But i belive I bought a Wilkerson sword? It had the cheapest refills. I am happy with it. It is nothing out of this world, but does the job. |

The razors you buy in stores suck, fantastically expensive, and they don't even shave that close. Straight edge takes too long to prep and shave, but it's an awesome shave. I bought a Merkur double edge safety razor. Blades are five cents each, cut really close, and last me a long time. I use an electric razor (Braun series 3 with the self cleaning system). One razor is about $30 bucks at Wally world, BUT, they last for 18 months (recommended). I shave every other day and have an average beard, I could have kept using the original blades as they were still working fine at 18 months, but went ahead and bought a new set anyway. The only thing that you have to keep paying for with this razor on a regular basis is the cleaning cartridges. One cartridge will last a month, and a two-pack is about $12 at Wally World. |
