What is the average highway mpg? I drive 56 miles round trip to work every day (except weekends) so I'm looking to save on gas. There's one for sell where live and I plan on buying it.
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section I just joined.

Depends on how fast you drive. I can get away with driving 45 mph on my daily 40 mile round trip. NOT KIDDING, I get 60 mpg+ in the winter and 70 mpg+ in the summer with E0 gas. Thats with alot of mods I made with some great ideas right from this forum. Yes, buy it and keep coming back here to learn from great people.

Sounds like a good investment to me. However, the one I plan to buy does have a crack in the windshield. Other than that, it seems to be in great shape.

I've been running around with a crack in mine since i bought it, been meaning to get around to change it. The first thing to check up north here is the frame horns for rust. Even thats covered on this forum.

Welcome to the forum :) First thing I'd recommend reading would be the buyers guide, which you can find here -> http://geometroforum.com/topic/1666576/

Good luck when you go to look at the car :)

I had two cars of that vintage with that drivetrain, and both gave me 43 mpg in my normal city/highway mix. If you keep the speed around 60 mph, you should be able to get 45 mpg without doing anything special.

Je conduis une petite voiture.

Depending on how it's initially tuned it will probably get between 37 MPG- 44 MPG, with a likely average of 42 MPG. That's what the EPA says, and that's what I found is typical on mine before I molested it.

Well, 37-45 is way better than what I was getting. I was driving my 89 Wrangler to work which averages 18-20 mpg on the highway.

according to your driving habits--- 70 MPH = low 40s -- 50 MPH = low 50s
many get higher mileage but that takes extra care and equipment.
NOTE: If you are looking to buy then take the time to study the "BUYERS GUIDE" on the portal page.

I was getting 40 in my 4 cyl 98. Its worth the slight loss in mpg to have the power to pass semi trucks climbing a hill if you need imo.
