Definitely needed to be padded better. HOWEVER.... That box was clearly mishandled. Having worked as a seasonal mail handler in the past, I do know that there are some types who only respect first class packages. Anything less can be punted like a football and I mean even by supervisors. I worked as a temp during Christmas many moons ago and I was sorting a BMC (aka big metal container) to individual cities. I was taking the packages and walking to each city's BMC and placing them in there. A boss walked over and grabbed a fruit cake tin and just threw it some 10 feet into the bin with a loud bang (and of course a dent / scrape on the tin itself.) He said it was only third class, handling wasn't paid for... Keep this in mind when you try to save on shipping - always pack it like it's going to be thrown by a baboon.. it might very well be handled by one. |

Oh, so its all my fault? I was going to wrap the assemble in duct tape after I zip tied the subs facing each other and slap a lable on them. The post office said NO. Said they needed to be in a box, I went to wal mart and bought a box slightly bigger than the subs zip tied together. I think the post office is trying toget even with me. It use to be when I wanted to ship stuff I had to do it priority and there was no exception. I learned about the media rate and partial post. They seemed resistance to use either option and I had one lady argue with me that cds that contained video games didtn quality for that rate. I think after hours I am going to fill a cardboard box with a bunch of wet mice and an address lable to somewhere across the country and no return address.

Cobb forget the mice. Concentrate on Asian food spices, especially Korean. That crap is rank and EVERY mailman hates delivering that stinky stuff. Something better is to ship raw fish, heads guts and all, to an overseas address. Make sure you send it SURFACE RATE. that means it will stay on a ship for six weeks. Be sure it has a bad address on it. Once it is returned, make sure you put Scoobs' return address on the package. |

Even if they weren't packaged that well, you at least expect the box to make it in one piece. When the box is shredded, they obviously screwed up. I think you had Ace Ventura as a deliveryboy. |

I'd still use the subs unless the motors are shifted... Retract the latter, I would still use those subs. They can't be shifted Edited by Bigshane90, Mar 14 2012, 09:21 PM.

I found the reciept and am filing a compliant. I also sold and shipped a portable ice maker machine. It was damaged on arrival. Ive been selling my belongings through ebay and these are the first 2 episodes I have had. I am using another post office down the road from this one. Still I cant see how sending 6lbs to MI partial post is 12 bucks. Shipping charges is beyond me at this point. What happened to the 2 lbs, 2 days 2 dollars? |

Cobb, welcome to the world of increasing prices. Remember, the more you spend, the more I make!!!!! hehe. BTW, don't get your hopes up in trying to get some $$$ back for us breaking your stuff. You will need a few things. First, the items that were damaged, then the box they were mailed in, then an itemized listing of everything that was damaged, sales receipt, first born's name, social security number of your first born, wife's maiden name, your current list of household monetary earnings, three years of latest tax returns. Just kidding on some of those items, but you get the picture. We make it darn near impossible to relate to our customers in a personal manner. Maybe if you are lucky, you will get a great customer service representative who will give you a refund. If you don't, then keep going up the chain of command. Ask for a supervisor, then a station manager, then the postmaster, then the phone number of the Manager of Post Office Operations(MPOO) then the phone number of the District Manager, then the Vice President of Operations for your area. One of those people will help. Remember that when dealing with the Postal Service, ONLY THE SQUEEKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE! You must be persistant or you will not get a dime. Sorry to be a gloomy Gus, but I live and work USPS and I know how the system works. Cheers Terry |

There's your problem. Partial Post is probably not your best choice. Edited by Woodie, Mar 18 2012, 06:34 AM.
