Alright, I have come back to Metros. I had one several years ago (I think I had done an intro) & got rid of it because it was all rusted out, subsequently the next vehicle I bought was also all rusted out (I was in southern WI). But now I am in a new state, with a new metro, actually I have had it since last June or July. I managed to find a '94 3/5 2-door with approx. 90K on it for $900 about an hour away from where we had relocated to. Drove over, checked out the car which needed some work & test drove it. The guy selling it didn't know much about it & I didn't really care, but actually took $700 only for it. Since then I have been re-stalking the forum & figured since I am finally gonna put some serious work into the car I should start actually posting. The car was great, shifted smooth & didn't seem to have any engines issues. I managed to get 42 mpg on the first full tank of gas even with its unknown history, but fast forward a few months & I am beginning to use/burn a lot of oil (almost a full engines worth every tank) & my mpg was going downhill. Because of this I decided to get another car, one which albeit was much faster & almost more fun to drive, ended up only getting 22 mpg. So with gas prices beginning to rise, long before summer, I couldn't afford to sell the Metro. I am now going tear it apart & put it back together. Which means soon I will have my very own Project page. Highly enjoying the forum- Jesse aka ratchet |

So... welcome back If you need an engine to rebuild I have one that we took out of our '96 that needs rebuilding. That and a rack & pinion steering assembly that needs rebuilding. You could drive your car and do the rebuild, then just install the engine. However, I am up in McCall and moving on the 22nd so I am getting rid of stuff. Let me know. |

Thanks everyone. Also Bad Bent that sounds tempting, even though I already have mine apart. |
