I don't currently have a metro but am looking for one. I just started a new job so hopefully I will have the cash to purchase one. My neighbor has a Mk4 3 door. With my commute to work, its mostly freeway. I'm looking for a nice ecocar, plus I've always loved metros. I'm looking for an 89-95 right? Those are the Mk3's? 3 door 5 speed 3 cylinder. I've seen some on craigslist, but no cash yet. My 99 Malibu isn't exactly a mpg fenom.

89-91 is a MK2, 92-94 is a MK3, 95 starts the MK4's and the heavier body style. They'll still get 45 mpg if driven sensibly, but not the 50 that the earlier cars do. |

I'm stuck in a bind I need a new family car I'd need something like a small SUV, but I really want a Metro. Perhaps I can get both? I really need to find one for a dollar. |

Well I doubt a buck is going to get if done for ya and with gas prices going up they will only get more expensive so the sooner you find one probably the better good luck. FYI if u do find one the pull and saves in spokane seems to always have a good supply of metros for parts |

I use to frequent pull and save every weekend. The availability just isn't good for metros. I'd like a 96 or newer so I can run my Torque program. Maybe if I get a sedan I can use it for a family mobile? What kind of mpg would a 4 cylinder 5 speed sedan get? I saw one on craigslist. I just checked it was a 95.

I have a '96 4 cyl/5 spd sedan, and I get 42-45 mpg. 1995 will be obd1 though, not obd2. |
