Hi,
This is my first car(1991 2dr Geo Metro) given to me by my uncle I am a college student and my life was getting a bit difficult without one. I joined this forum just to learn about geo metros. I don't know hardly anything about them(I don't even know what model mine is lol) except I'm delighted by the gas mileage and mine is surprisingly fun to drive. Hopefully I can learn a lot and figure out how to take care of it properly, some things on my to do list for it are to figure out what tools are handy to have and make a tool box for it(suggestions welcome), and to fix some of the cosmetic stuff inside minor things like missing hood lever, and radio bezel stuff like that. Although I'm finding 1991 parts are hard to get. Anyways glad to meet everybody.

Ivan

Can't seem to get the picture link to work so if you want to see it here is the url.

you'll want a 10mm and 12mm wrenches for sure!

For flickr pictures you'll want to click the share button above the picture to get the direct link to that photo.

I imagine that that's a tow rig for towing the car behind a motor home.
Good choice on cars Ivan. :cheers
If you ever get that hood open, you will find a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder engine that puts (put) out 55h.p. and if you have the 5 speed manual transmission, you should see 45-55 m.p.g.!
My first priority would be to fix that hood latch so you can service the engine. Also check the lower control arm mounts for rust. It's the achille's heel of the Geo Metro and if bad, can cause wheel separation from the car ( Don't ask me how I know!).
Good Luck,
Larry
P.S. Love the old Jeep. Looks like many carefree miles ahead for that rig!

Treat it like a lady and it will treat you nice. Be mean to it and it WILL die very quickly.

Change the oil regularly and don't stomp on the gas. Metros are very robust vehicles that can attain wonderful fuel mileage if you limit heavy footed driving techniques.

Glad you are an owner of a metro. When friends and relatives start giving you the "business" about owning a metro, just let them have their laughs. You will be spending a lot less in gas money plus achieving the same goal they are: arriving at a destination.

Though the metro is not a glamorous vehicle, it still can get from point A to point B just like every other car. Consider yourself lucky to find one. And the best part about owning one, is that when the price of gas hits ten bucks a gallon, you can sell you metro for a lot more money than when you bought it.

Good luck and welcome to GMF.

Welcome!

You have a MK2 base model. Not an LSI limousine or an XFI mega mileage special. A base model, just right.

Welcome here :)
I edited your post to show the initial picture you were trying for (using some, erm, techniques :whistle ) to get the proper address. While I was at it, I came across the reason you were unsuccessful, which was this message from Flickr :
" Looking for the HTML code and photo file link? Check out this FAQ." which brings you to this :
Where is the HTML code and photo file link?

The HTML code to embed a photo in a web page that you used to find on the All Sizes page is now only in the Share menu above the photo, to the right of the Actions menu. We now also include BBCode! (standard message board code)

There are a few cases where the code may not be available: 1) If the photo is restricted. 2) If that person has turned off "Share this" or access to original files.

The direct link to a photo file is no longer shown on the page. Per the Flickr Community Guidelines "pages on other websites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr." Linking directly to the photo file doesn't do this.
I was unable to find the BB codes for your pictures, so I cheated outrageously, check to see that you've enabled sharing and that your pictures have that linking available if you want to use Flickr for hosting to post pics here :)

Sweet thanks I just realized that the button for bbl code also does the html and you have to select bbl after you choose it to get the correct link. Thanks for going to all that trouble. :)
