Hi! My name is Jon Davis and I'm a 30 year old Art Director in Saint George, Utah. I recently bought a 93 Metro XFi and I'm all about getting in with forums and sharing and learning. I've mostly owned / restored classic Volkswagens but I've known a few Geo Metros and always thought well of them. My sister and an old girlfriend owned them, and I've always had in the back of my mind to get one. So with my job moving warehouses and me needed to commute about 20 minutes to work, I was left with a choice between a scooter and an 88 S10 pickup ... so I decided to get a Geo! After a few weeks of searching and planning a eight hour drive to go pick up a dead one in Arazona, there was a friend of a friend who was willing to trade straight up for my S10 in exchange for his Metro.

The Geo was a car he and his wife would tow behind their RV and use to cruise around wherever they stopped. It has 83K on it and he he did a full rebuild the engine 6k miles ago ... the interior is in okay shape, and the car is pretty straight and only has a few cosmetic issues - the main problem being IT'S METALLIC PINK - but that will be fixed soon.

I'm really excited about polishing this car up ... I'm going to get it back to stock pretty much, honestly I just want to clean it up, and definitely a paint job. I'm thinking the old eighties VW rabbit tan would look cool. I know I know, come on Volkswagen guy it's a Geo not a VW ... I honestly think tan would be an appropriate color for a Geo.

That's the news so far, I'll be posting things as they happen, and I'll have plenty of questions!

Welcome aboard. Hey, any color is better than pink. Plus it'll blend in in your surroundings, the police will never see you speeding by.

Fresh Fish...mmmm....tasty!

A friend of mine had a pink Studebaker (don't remember the model) for a work car. It was cheap and ran good. He hasn't had the car for at least 25 years. He still gets razzed about it. Paint it quick!

Looks good. Nice choice on the black B and C pillars, I like the floating roof look.

Just be sure you don't lose that car somewhere in the high desert - looks an awful lot like desert colors!
