Hi all,
My name is Greg Wood, and I'm just outside of Lexington, Ky. Please bear with me, if I make mistakes, because not only is this my first post to the forum, it's my first post to ANY forum. Please let me know if I'm breaking any rules (too many photos, too large photos, etc.)
At 60 years old, I'm just as car crazy as I was when I was a teenager, and it seems this may be a genetic condition, as my 8 year old son, James is at least as bad as I am.
My first 3 Cylinder, was a Subaru Justy, followed by my first Turbo Sprint. That Turbo was so rusty that it wouldn't cast a shadow at high noon, but man, was it fun.... I was hooked.

Just picked up a new (old) car, and thought I'd join the forum, even though the new ride is a Chevy Sprint. I'm pretty happy with the new car, it's a 1986 Chevy Sprint Plus (that's four door to you Metro guys) with just 30,000 original miles. I looked for quite a while to find one this nice, and was pleased to find a car that is this original. Believe it or not, it still has the original tires, and the spare has never touched the ground.

So far I've done nothing to it, but give it a quick wash. Even as it is, though the engine and interior are nice and clean. I was surprised to find that the A/C worked great after sitting for many years without being driven. Two days after I bought it, I took a 1,000 mile trip and averaged 52.7 mpg, and am pretty pleased with that. I've had three Sprint Turbos, and the mileage didn't even come close, but maybe this was because it was so hard to control my right foot.

Any one else near Lexington? Oh, and are Sprints welcome at Geopalooza?
Cheers to all!

Welcome aboard! The Sprint is actually an early Metro - joint venture between Chevy and Suzuki (heavy on the Suzuki) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geo_Metro

I had an 86 for years and years, currently have a 92 Vert and a 96 hatchback.

I am absolutely positive Sprints are welcome at GeoPalooza!

I know that I paid top dollar for the car at $3000. But I rationalized it by asking myself where could I get any car with 30,000 miles for less. Anyhow, I'm so happy with it, that I feel like celebrating:Posted Image

You are extremely welcome here. I believe we had the pleasure of seeing the car you bought show up here for a time in the for sale section, if so, doubly glad you joined so we could meet the buyer :)

There is probably no such thing as too many pictures :popcorn :thumb

Beautiful car!

Also, that was a very well put together and proper introduction. I think you will fit in just fine here if you keep that up!

Welcome to the forum!

Cost was about six months payments on a new car and you get better mileage than almost any new car. No argument from me. Good buy.

Welcome :cheers
