I have a 96 metro with a lot of rust but a good runner. I also have a 95 with a much better body but the engine was a little toasted because of running with no water. They are both 3cyl 5speed but the 95 is LSI with AC and the 96 no AC . I would like to put the engine and trans from the 96 in the 95 and I was wondering if I would have problems with any difference because of the 96 has the ob2 computer set up for checking emissions? |

Hello, mollymutt! All you have to do is just put it in. (Beware when I say "just" )The '95 parts that you want to keep with the engine are: 1. The complete intake manifold and all associatied parts. 2. The distributor. 3. The thermostat housing. 4. The timing belt, timing idler, and timing gears. 5. The timing cover. There is no need to change the oil pump. Remove the crankshaft sensor. Have a nice day!

No need for 4 and 5 on Geo Glenn's list, just leave the intake, distributor, and thermostat housing with the car, and ignore the crankshaft sensor. |

Agreed. I am a purist. Although, the next guy who looks at what you have done will shake his head. |

I'm pretty sure they're the same, but I don't think the bottom ends are the same. |
