How do I remove rocker arms from the pistons?

How do you remove the rocker arms from the pistons to put the new pistons on the old rocker arms?

Pistons are in the bottom part of the engine block. Rocker arms are in the top portion of the engine called the head. The two parts do not touch.

Now, are you asking about valves, which are incased within a spring?

A 1.0L engine does not have rocker arms. They have hydrolic lifters which are underneath the camshaft. You need to remove the camshaft in order to get to the lifters.

Now do you want to restate your question, please?

So the connecting rods then... how do i remove them and the bearings to put on the new pistons and bearings?

You need to use a press to press the wrist pins out of the connecting rods. I made a wooden block with a half round cutout like a saddle for the piston to sit in when pushing out the pin. Drill a hole in the saddle so you can push the wrist pin through it. I then made a pusher pin that has a smaller section that fits inside the wrist pin to keep it straight and a slightly larger section a little smaller than the outside diameter of the wrist pin to push it out. The wrist pin is 17mm od. You may be able to use this setup to push them out in a big vise but I use a hydraulic press.

You can use the same pieces to press the new wristpins in but great care must be exercised to get them straight before you press them or you can destroy a piston easily. I have a guide pin to make sure they start in the wristpin dead straight but it is not here right now. Also be careful to get the wristpin centered when you press it back together.

its best to do this with a rod heater. atleast putting them back on the new pistons. less chance of warping the new pistons.
