Does the engine turn over? It just doesn't start. Please try to be a little more specific with your descriptions of your no start issue. That will help us better diagnose where the problem might lie. |

Time to check the compression. We had one member who had the lifters assembled improperly.I'm sure you know about the oil check valve in the head but there is also the oil relief valve in the oil pump that would clog. Spark at the plugs so the rotor wasn't left out of the distributor. |

ok..pulled head back off to double check everything..is there an oil check valve in the head or is it just the one on the lower left hand corner of the block? Also...is there something on the head gasket that needs trimmed for oil passages..there seemed to be excess oil when i tore it apart..plenty of oil in the on the top end tho...thanks |

The oil check is in the corner of the block, not the head. That wouldn't make it not start anyway. Did it sound normal on the starter? The injector is firing? |

common problem is that the lifters are not working properly. do a compression check to see if the valves are closing OK. post your compression #s |

I just had a problem with my car not starting after doing some work. I replaced the distributor. Kept the wires on the old distributor to swap wires correctly, and I still screwed it up. Found the firing order chart, redid the wires, and it fired right up. You may want to double check your plug wire order. I found this post most helpful. http://geometroforum.com/single/?p=632220&t=4751395 |
