Ok guys I think how I took the pic makes it look a lot worse then it is. The only marks you can feel is the dark etching marks and that's just bearly. The guy at the machine shop said I need to crosshatch it better. He also stated that in his opinion after a better crosshatch. Go ahead and use the new standard pistons and rings. There should be no problem.

Not to be offensive forthvacav... how many miles are you planning to get out of this build??

As many as it will run. I drive 92 miles round trip 7 days a week @50 mpg to go work. The car has over five hundred thousand miles on it. Or I could drive my truck @15mpg.
I take by your question that in your opinion the rebuild will not last long?

I'm only trying to be helpful... you seem to need longevity with the miles you stack up.. If you insist on honing.. look up how to dimple (centerpunch) the piston skirts to take up the extra clearance between the skirt and the cylinder wall(redneck piston knurling 101) Paul
