Howdy everyone, After a very nice conversation with Snowfish yesterday, we have decided that August 18th will be the date for the 1st Annual Minnesota Metro Meet. We decided to have it south of the Twin Cities at my house. We are hoping that by having it south of the Twin Cities, that we can pull some of our Iowa, and Wisconsin members to attend. (Maybe we can convince the Mullet to a road trip) The nice part about having it at my house, is that if anyone needs parts for an 89-94 Metro, I have my own personal Metro salvage yard on my property, and to top it off, I have a salvage yard less than a mile from my house that has a few Metro's in it also. Snowfish and I decided we wanted to have a nice personal Meet and Greet off the beaten path, so we could hang out and BS with fellow Metro owners. I have 10 acres here, so we have plenty of room for anyone who wants to camp and spend the night, and we are only 20 miles away form Rochester if someone decides to stay at a motel. At this point, I'm planning a bonfire in the back yard for anyone who wants to stay overnight. By the sound of it, Snowfish will have both of his Metro's there. (Thankfully he didn't sell his 93) We want to be very clear, we don't care if you have a rust bucket, or a pristine Metro, everyone is welcome to this meet, so don't worry about what it looks like, we just want you to come and enjoy the day. We can work on details about food and beverage in the next couple of months, so if you have any idea's about that, let's hear it. Here is the address for all of you folks that want to see how far it is to travel: 72653 260th Avenue Hayfield, MN 55940 Google shot: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&psj=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1062&bih=800&wrapid=tlif133570809690010&q=72653+260th+ave+hayfield+mn&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x87f74895e72dab1f:0xaf7ac585b2f7c9ed,72653+260th+Ave,+Hayfield,+MN+55940&gl=us&ei=1kmdT_alLqPK2AWakun-Dg&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CCMQ8gEwAA |

Sweet! I like that part... I can show up with my Swiss-cheese rusty, duct-taped Metro 8/18... we'll have to see what the work schedule looks like. It's not a terrible thing at only 5.5 hours away, but I just got bumped off my job today, having to step back to a lower job, and there's still the possibility that I may have to relocate myself to like CO or WY but if I can be there, I will! |

That's kinda what I was thinking . . . Anyway, it's only a week after Johnny Mullet's GeoPalooza on Lake Erie. And . . . it's only 404 miles away for me! That's a short trip for Geo Glenn. My ass should be rested up enough from the Northern Ohio journey by then. But wait, there's more. Scoobs has a set of frame horns from a '94 (Call Dibs, Snowfish), and a set of frame horns from a '96. They will be in the back of my car for relocation from Arkansas to the rust belt. Looking forward to meeting the boys and girls of the northern GeoSphere, if you'll have me, eh?
