Got my brand new Tbelt cover from Napa & went to install it tonight. Uh.... No go! Anybody know if the one on the left is for a 1.3L? One on the right came off my 94 1.0L. Hoping somebody can guess & save me the research time. lol Geo Glen, where are you????![]()

HaHa, looks like you might have got the correct year, but the wrong engine. I bet it is for the taller head on a 1.3L Wait, that's wrong...........hmmmmm.........I'll need to contemplate this a little. Hmmmmmm Edited by dayle1960, May 2 2012, 07:22 PM.

They gave you the wrong part. All 5 that I have sitting on the shelf look like the one on the right. |

Looks like the one for the SOHC 1.3L or maybe older Sprint 1.0L. The 1989+ G10 has the cam up high, over the valves, hence the longer cover. |

Right here . . . Click on Geo Glenn. Look at Topics Started by . . . Somewhere in there is a Product Review of new Timing Covers from GM. The 1.3 liter timing cover is shorter than the 1.0 liter timing cover. I think that's what you've got. Special order? No returns? |

1.0 cam is higher up because the lifters are in between the cam and the valves. The 1.3's have rocker arms, so the cam sits lower in the head.

Took it back to Napa & got a refund. They said they couldn't find one for the 1.0L models. |
