Outside ambient air temperature......Now I'm just a plain old shade tree mechanic and am not a techno wizard like Woddie, mwebb, starscream, or Bad Bent, but I dreamed of staying in a Holiday Inn last night. That being said, I wonder why in the world the builders of the ultragauge would have a parameter on their gauge that shows "outside ambient air temperature." There is no way that I have an exterior thermometer on my '96 metro. I doubt it came as an accessory. So my question is, "How in the world can the ultragauge know how hot or cold the outside temperature is around my metro? Anybody wanna chime in on said conumdrum? |

it is a generic PID Parameter ID on the later version of Generic OBD2 the Geo Metro predates that version so you can use coolant temp and air temp together before you start the engine after the engine has been sitting cold for some time those values will both be ambient air temperature coolant temp must be equal to air temp as in MUST otherwise at least 1 of the temp sensors is out of range (broken) which may be a circuit problem or sensor problem |
