So I found an LSi 4-door with the split seats and the hatch release. How compatible are these interior parts with my 93 2-door base? Those are two features that I'd really like. It also had a rear shelf that needed some fixing, I could probably pick that up for someone if they were interested. |

Bolt right in, the rear seat will be a little different, its more squared than the 1993s rounded corner. But the rest should be bolt in. |

The bottom of the seat looked pretty flared and actually way rounder. |

There's difinately something different between the two generation as the earlier ones have two inches more legroom in the backseat area or it's the other way around. I've got both, maybe I should go measure them. Ken..... |

Ken, if you could, that would be cool before next Monday. By the way, would anyone be interested in the imperfect rear tray and supports for them? one corner had a broken post and a little crack in the tray, still looked pretty functional. |

No, your four door has two inches more legroom because the frame has two inches more wheelbase. |

The split seat bolts in- so does the bottom, but the sides aren't rounded on the lsi 2 door hatch. The four door has a curved bottom seat to allow easier enty/exit out to the ground. Even so, the two door seat bottom will bolt right in. If you don't have a lot of rear passengers, it won't make a bit of difference. If however you regularly use the rear seating, your passengers will notice it. You do not have to change both parts, unless you are worried about the pieces matching. You could always pull the cover from the squared bottom, (that matches the split rear seat back) take it to a seamstress with the rounded bottom (oem seat)and have the seamstress fit it to the curves. (Reverse engineer), then you have oem seating/comfort/ ease of entry and exit, and the split rear seat back matching. congrats on the find. Edited by econoboxer, May 26 2012, 02:29 PM.

So luckily, the seat was still there 2 months later and I pulled it last weekend. however, I think that the U-bars that the seats lock on that are attached to the strut tower are shorter on my 2 door base. The seats won't latch up with the rear shelf installed. ( i know it'll work because the one I pulled it from had a shelf) Does anyone have a 4 door or even better one with split seats that they could measure for me? I'm hoping that I could head back down (30 mile trip) today if I need the piece. Edited by dover, Jul 14 2012, 03:18 PM.

Measured them for you this morning. The four door u bolt is 4 inches long. The 2 door measures 3 inches long. I took pictures but am feeling lazy about uploading. I did the reverse type of install. I put a 2 door interior into a four door car. I didn't notice that the seat does not line up on the curves by about an inch. If I were really ambitious I would pull those u bolts and put them into meatloaf to make things match up exactly. that one inch isn't very noticeable- but now that you've asked the question and pointed out the flaw... thanks a lot buddy! |

Well, I hope to pull some soon. If I do, I'll send you my old ones. I'm glad we can learn things as a collective. |

Hey Dover- I was just plain bugged by the not quite flush rear seat on Meatloaf- so I spent some time harvesting the U-brackets from Mahana and installed them into Meatloaf. I have the longer 4 door seat U bolts available- do you want them? |
