Ok guys I finally got some pictures and I wanted to see what the experts thought. The rusty frame horn and rocker panel are the drivers side. the passenger side looks to be in decent shape as well as the floor pans from what I can see up under the car. I havent tore the carpet out yet so we shall see. I got pictures of the drivers side rear fender well and it is GONE! I can poke a screw driver completely through, but it doesnt appear that the rust has made it to the rear strut tower. Though I pulled back the carpet on the passenger side yet, I can assure you that it is just as bad, I can put a screw driver through it from the inner fender well. I will get more pics as I get the interior out. Here are the ones I have right now. I do not have the tools or the welding experience to fix it myself, so let me know if you all think it would be worth having a good body guy fix it. I look forward to the comments, Thanks guys.

That's a lot of welding.
The horns don't look too bad, the rest is kinda Meh... but fixable.

If it runs great, and you know how to weld then the work involved is entirely up to you f it's worth it.

Get an air tool called a needle scaler gun (a small one, check harbor freight... $30 bucks) and start blasting away all the rust you can find, go over the places close to the rust to see if its thin or totally shot.

Once you remove all the rust chips, crust and crumbles, blow it all clean with ain air gun and think about what you found.

Anything can be repaired, it's just sheet metal and sweat.... it might be wise after you blast off all the rust, to go find a car that is solid, and maybe needs an engine or other stuff you already have there that works well in this car.

Until you remove the rust, you really dunno how bad it is. Get a needle gun and start exploring.

Copy of my post in your intro thread

These do not paint a pretty picture. You need to address the frame horns very soon or look for a less rusty one. The frame horns rust from the inside out and with this much visible you can bet that if you started picking away at those with a chipping or scaling hammer there would be a lot bigger holes when you found solid steel. If you are into the work they are fixable. Search the site a little and see what some have repaired on the front horns and then decide what your course of action should be.

Yes. It's a keeper. Just "minor' rust compared to the guys who live in the rust belt. The main concern is the rear sway bay. JM can guide you through that process. The overall condition is good, in my opinion. There will need to be a lot of elbow grease involved in order to get it back into shape but it is just minor stuff, cosmetic really.

Sorry its been so long guys, I am having trouble with my account when I log on through a computer it won't allow me to reply or send a pm, it just sends me to another site that isn't even up anymore. not sure what going on, it started when I changed my background several times on this site. anyway
I've not much time as of late to tinker with the metro but I am searching for a good body guy or at least a good metal/welding guy to do the frame rail, the driver side rocker and the rear inner fender wells. Is there anyone on here in my area (even southern Ohio or northern Tennessee) that can do this?

I've got rust under the doors of my 2 door 95 Geo. Is this called a rocker panel? If so is there a fix that I could do? Also on my TBi there is a large black colored box tied to it. Will one of you guys help me out and let me know if this is a necessary unit for the operation of the engine. I have observed other TBI's without this unit attached. Please respond to my Email; whosail1@aol.com The old guy, Dave

Yep it has been awhile since I have been on line with you guys!
