Sexy did you repaint it?

I didn't repaint it. I don't think the previous did neither. The Autocheck history reports shows three previous owners all in California. The first two owners were located in southern CA and the third was in San Jose CA.

The overall paint condition is great. There are a few scratches near the gas filler cover and a dent on the front right fender.

One suggestion I noticed while reading your "Portal" layout was having the head rebuilt. A few members who have just done the head have usually had to do the bottom end later since the worn rings can't hold the new (higher) compression. Take a look at these links for some future reference;
98 Metro Rebuild
Engine Rebuild Top and Bottom
Detailed 1.0 Head Rebuild Guide
Bottom End Rebuild Guide

As per your coolant leak there are some 'freeze plugs' in the intake manifold that leak sometimes but it sounds like your pump. :'(

Thank you for the information Bad Bent.

When I bought the car last year with about 85k miles, I tested the compressions. Here are the results:

Cylinder # 1 2 3
Dry 175 165 170
Wet 185 190 185

I mentioned I want to redo the cylinder head because I think it's making too much noise. When the engine is up to temperature and under load, it sounds like a bunch of pennies rattling around in a glass jar. I tried to captured this noise in this video:

Please let me know what you guys think. Can I quiet down the engine without the head rebuild?

Your YouTube video says "This video is unlisted. Only those with the link can see it. Learn more"

I haven't seen that and I can't get it to show. So it needs to be unlisted some how. :-/

That said, the numbers look good. If a lifter is sticking you can see if topping off the oil with Marvel Mystery Oil will help. I search for unwanted noises with a $5 Mechanic's Stethoscope from Harbor Freight.

Sorry about that. I made the video publicly open. It should be viewable now. Any suggestions are welcomed.

I am going to order a timing belt, tensioner, 2 seals, and a water pump with a gasket from RockAuto Parts. Do you have recommendations regarding brands to buy and avoid for these parts?

Thanks for taking a look.

I haven't read any bad recommendations - that come to mind. Gates belts? Gatorback (sp?) maybe if they make timing belts.

A stretched timing belt may cause some noise. :-/
