You will all have to pardon me for posting questions and responses without first introducing myself. I have been a member for a little over a week, and have not taken the time to do my introduction. I currently have a 94 with a 5 speed, and the 1L in it. I own a lot of cars, but this metro is becoming one of my favorites. I look forward to all the fun I can have with the rest of us metro lovers.

welcome Hat Boy- looking forward to seeing you around.
:) Drapers in my back yard. lol.

Thinking I need to head over and give a hand to metrout in Provo when I have the time- they have a surging idle problem on a fresh rebuild.
Climbinghalfdome is up Idaho way and makes it down here sometimes. He is also a member of ecomodder- he is all about mpgs.

Starting to see a few members in our neck of the woods.

I will try and add some pics in a little bit. Its not pretty to look at though, but what can you expect from a $400 car.

I see a project thread in your near future.
For most of us, the interior and exteriors aren't in very good shape when we get our metros.
Time, effort and attention will help.

Are you going from auto to manual- or manual to auto on your swap.
There are specific components you need to do both.

I did a auto to manual swap on it. It was quite a project. I know what you mean about needing specific parts though, I neglected to get the rear motor mount bracket when I grabbed the trans and other parts from the junk car. I couldn't find another on for over a month. The car just sat for a long time while I located the part. Interior of the car is actually pretty good. I am thinking of the esteem seat upgrade to replace the worn front seats, and that is all it really needs. I do need a new drivers door, and it could use some paint.

I am looking for a donor seat to go into a project of mine. Let me know if you find and esteem seat and are feeling generous. Just a few minutes away.

Ladies and Gentlemen we have a winner! I've found someone to do my trany swap! :rocker
Ok ok just kidding.
I have a manual 3.79 trans I'd like to rebuild and drop in to replace my 4.10. I'd do it myself, but I'd mess it up. I can do some repaires, but this is above my skill level.
Yes I've been bitten with the MPG bug, and now I can't stop. My last fill up I got over 90 MPG which brings up the question, "How much is enough?"
I'll know when I get there.

Welcome to the forum.
As far as roll call, I only know of "cnr_dogs" who lives in my area, and "Bad Bent" who lives in Mc Call, an hour away from me. So I guess we 4 are the only ones I've heard of in the Utah-Idaho area. The nice thing about being out west, (well there are a ton of nice things about being out west) is that the metro's in the junk yards aren't picked clean yet, our cars don't get too rusty, and you can be just about anywhere in the western USA in a day of driving.
You will find this forum is awesome and can teach you so much about these little cars that go.
Good luck and happy trails.
