ECM can see CKP , do not fraq with it - 320 rpm is pretty fast possible "washout" what oil is in the engine ? exactly , name brand and viscosity ? where is the oil level on the oil stick ? during no start spray starter fluid in the intake through the throttle body does it start run briefly then stall ... yes or no during this time locate a vacuum gauge for next test if you have a timing light that would make things easier too- not needed if you do not have one do not buy one. get a DVOM if you do not have one Edited by mwebb, Jun 7 2012, 10:41 PM.

Castrol 10W30, @ the full line, no it doesn't start, it acts like it is bogging down. After talking to my mechanic about what has been posted, he went back and did some kind of electrical test on the crank sensor and believes that maybe you all are on to something with the oil pan gasket. He cranked the motor and performed his test and the signal was erratic. He is going to remove the pan seal Monday, look up a bit of info this weekend and give me a call to let me know what became of it.

The oil pan causes these problems. I don't know why there have been so many other posts before doing that? |

Castrol 10W30, @ the full line, no it doesn't start, it acts like it is bogging down. wrong oil since you are going to change the oil anyway make sure that you use a minimum of Dexos1 5w30 synthetic with ACEA A1 B1 - A5 B5 and dexos1 on the bottle better to use a great oil 0w30 0w40 5w30 with ACEA A3 B3 A3 B4 on the bottle GM Dexos why ? see last line on this page |

Well, my mechanic measured from the sensor to the crank and got 120?, then he removed the oil pan seal and rechecked it and got 30?. Car started immidietly and stayed running for well over an hour before HE shut it off. Now I have a brand new ECU that I can't return and a broken A/C tensioner pully that I need to fix before he can get the A/C system running. Anyone know someone who is looking for a brand new California spec ECU for a 1.3L automatic metro(1999)? I want to thank everyone who gave positive feedback and assisted me(my mechanic) with getting this car finally running. |

mweb....question...I also have a 1.3 GEO metro and replace the oil pump so do suggest I use any type of adhesive on the oil pump gasket? I am rebuilding my engine and what is the best oil to use to help break the engine....meaning its first oil on a new rebuilt engine Castrol 10W30, @ the full line, no it doesn't start, it acts like it is bogging down. wrong oil since you are going to change the oil anyway make sure that you use a minimum of Dexos1 5w30 synthetic with ACEA A1 B1 - A5 B5 and dexos1 on the bottle better to use a great oil 0w30 0w40 5w30 with ACEA A3 B3 A3 B4 on the bottle Edited by SuperMetroStar, Jul 12 2015, 11:22 PM.
