Welcome to the forum. We have several members in the great Rogue valley area. And there is going to be a get together up North next month I think. Let me see if I can find the thread. I am over on the coast.
Found it

Thanks for the heads up Mr Murph 59. That sounds like fun, but it looks like the wife and I will be headed South, as everyone else is headed North. We have reservations to visit "the rock" (Alcatraz) at about that time, on a trip down the Oregon/Calif coast. We hope to see the Northbound lanes filled with Metros, and will surely wave to ya'all however. ;)

A real nice drive when you get S. of Eureka is the Ave of the Giants. Very few of the old growth Red Woods left. ^o) :thumb
Two years ago we went down the coast on our way to San Diego. we stopped at Trees of mystery and did the tram that time, so this time we'll do the Ave. thanks for the tip. Isn't it strange that we Americans are all over those who are cutting down the rain forests, but at the same time have raped the only Redwood stands on the planet and sold the wood for next to nothing. kinda sad really.

We'll have pictures of big trees with holes in them when we get back! ;)

Welcome to the forum- See if you can get an arial tour of the rock, and divert to a coastal flight- its so much fun. I did that with my family in 2007 or 2008. We have plenty of people with know how on here.
