Sold one Metro bought another. Picked up a 96, 3cyl, manual hatchback, great engine but alot of little things need fixed around the rest of the car.
Went to fix the antenna, couldn't find the cable in the radio hole or anywhere under the dash. Undid screws on antenna and pulled it out. There is no cable on the backside of the antenna, someone just put the antenna bracket on the car.
My problem, how do I run a new cable down the corner post. Normaly if i'm pulling an antenna I tie a cord to the end of the cable and pull everything out and use the cord to pull the new one back through.
I have tried everything I can think of with no luck. Soft wire, stiff wire etc.. I can get it down the post but I can't get it to come out under the dash. I think it is supposed to come out the top of the heat tube where it attaches to the side wall. I can feel a slot there and see a bracket for the cable. I tried to feed a wire up the post from below, but there is no room to work, even with the fuse block dropped out of the way.
Anybody got a simple fix, PLEASE!!!! :banghead

It's official, I'm an idiot. I finally went and looked at my 95 geo and saw the antenna line was running down the outside of the post under the plastic, not in the post. Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees. Thats what happens when your doing too many jobs at once. Hope everyone had a good laugh, and thankyou for not stating the obvious, (i'm an idiot)

Good bye

That's ok because on the Mk2 and Mk3 cars the antenna wire does run all the way down through the post. It is always good to remind people of the differences.
:cheers
