Hello, name is Chris, aka Electric_Cowboy. Been running Dodge Cummins forever, but decided to pick up a used Metro for work. It's a 1995 LSI 4 door. Car has 167k miles, and last owner put in a used motor that had 90k when installed. Kinda new to this whole bit, so just thought I would introduce myself. Car is an auto... :(. But with as much city driving as I do, I don't care. I would ask for for some ideas to make sure this is running good, but I see there's a lot of topics here, so as not to offend anyone, I'll just search the forum for ideas. Looking forward to running this little thing. My old daily driver was an 05 quad cab Dodge Cummins, and after looking at how much it was costing me to make payments, drive the truck, and insurance, I had to address my sanity. Lmao!!! So, sold the truck and got this. Here's to some financial freedom!!!

welcome. We didn't sell our trucks- they are parked and ready to be driven- but we too have felt the economic strain of driving guzzlers. Your wallet will thank you. |

Thanks. Ya... didn't really want to get rid of it, but was sick and tired of paying on it, and after putting 37k miles on it in 18 months, figured I'd better get rid of it before I had no resale value. Lol. Oh well, there's always another truck around the corner. I have to get one anyways to haul the dirt late model to the track. So now I'm looking for an older first gen cummins. |

Welcome to your new forum, Electric_cowboy! Yeah, I still keep my 'no payments' Dirty White Van around both for sentiment and it's a good hauler. Feel free to ask questions. If you like to search then we also recommend Google Advance Search and type in geometroforum.com as the search domain. |

Thank you! Ya, looking forward to driving this little thing around. So far, driven 120 miles, says I got 3/4 tank left still. Cost me $25 to fill up. I'm loving it!!! I'm just hoping she holds together. Sounds like it's running strong to me. I have a check engine light, but have no clue how to track that down. Oh well, for now I'm just happy to be driving it. Kinda funny, went from a quad cab lifted 6" on 35's to this, so feels a little weird, but I'm excited. Lol. Was looking through some threads and seem someone posted up a clip from Seinfeld where Kramer drives the car to empty, had me laughing, but honestly a part of me wants to try it now. Might have to throw a fiver in the trunk just to see how truly far she'll go on a tank. Haha. |

Yeah, posting pics is an acquired skill. http://geometroforum.com/topic/1322668/Don't believe the gas gauge they all lie. When mine hits the red line it takes 7-7.5 gallons to fill. Anything between "I know I filled it." and the line is suspect for accuracy IMHO. The tank is 10.5 and 11 gallons if you top off. Try driving 300 miles, note the gauge needle position, and then fill it for an accurate mpg reading. Then you can note your mpg and calculate the needle position that says 'Feed me Electric_cowboy, feed me!'

Welcome here The facebook link didn't work because it didn't end at an image address (when I pasted the link itself, it brought me to a login page for mobile facebook). For an image to show, you have to have an address that ends with an image format, like this - http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/5691/bigsandlittlescutdown.jpg - which you can then wrap in image tags -> [img]http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/5691/bigsandlittlescutdown.jpg[/img] -which then shows the picture -> ![]() Simple, eh ![]() |
