Hi all, I have a little problem I have code 51. I know this is the EGR code and its very common but I wanted to share it with you guys my experience today. Ok I did one of those maneuvers when you remove the EGR and start the car to check for suction. But when I turned the car on I think coolant was blasting out of a hose I think I read that you can also check for leaks this way also. But any way I replaced the hose that it was blasting out of and I was wondering if this was out of the ordinary.. Mind you that I did the seafoam treatment a week ago also I went over a HUGE flood of water. I dont know if these is the cause of my check engine code but I just wanted to get everyones input and ideas. I restarted the computer with the negative battery pull but I have a feeling its probably going to come back on. |

Running any vehicle through a flood of water isn't a very good idea, it has a tendency to come back to haunt you later as electrical gremlins. That said, allowing the car to dry out, resetting the ECM (like you have done) and then seeing what codes come back seems like a reasonable course of action. Good Luck! |

And what were the results? You should have air pressure on the left port and vacuum on the right. If not the ports are clogged. And the code 51 is for the system so it could be something other than clogged ports.

To tell you the truth I dont really know when I saw coolant shooting out I panicked and got side track to figuring out what was causing it. |
