Hi, I am new to the forums but a long time metro owner. I currently have a 2000 Chevy Metro 1.0L 3/5 that has a burned valve and I'm looking for someone within a reasonable distance from Northeast Oklahoma that is familiar with these engines to do a rebuild for me at a fair price. I realize I could just have a mechanic do it here at home but after reading the forums it seems like people who have done several rebuilds of these engines have figured out what works and what doesn't as far as parts, assembly, tools etc. I drive my little metro all over the United States and want to make sure the work gets done right the first time and will be dependable. I've noticed posts about certain gaskets, stainless valves, valve seals, advanced timing gears etc that seem to be popular and I'd like to find someone who would be familiar with these options if possible. I'd be greatful for any and all input or suggestions. Thanks a bunch. |

Two suggestions off hand. Johnny Mullet and Geo Glenn. Johnny is in Ashtabula, Ohio and Geo Glenn lives in Troy, Missouri but travels a lot. PM or call for an appointment. Otherwise here is the thread with mechanics listed: http://geometroforum.com/topic/1644179/1/ |

I'm pretty sure Johnny Mullet has a good used engine ready to go at the moment. |

Where abouts in NE Oklahoma? I'm in Bella Vista Ar and have done several head rebuilds. My price?????????????.............Hmmmmm ............... Don't know. But it is fairly easy and I do have all of the tools. How many miles on the engine you have? If it's over 135K then a ring job might be in order. Just saying. Hit me up with a PM and we can talk. Terry. |

I have a rebuilt 3 cylinder with stainless valves and a 10 degree advanced timing gear here at the house in Ashtabula County Ohio. If that hoop will make it here, we can swap it out in about 4 hours. PM me if interested. It will be done right and last you many miles. Here is a vid of the engine running........... |
