I am trying to remove the dash from a 1994 Metro that I am parting out without complete destruction of the unit but it will not come out. I have removed. -Steering wheel/steering column -Instrument cluster -Speedometer Cable -3 screws along top near windshield -Side and bottom screws -Radio -as many harness connectors as I can reach. -center shifter area -glovebox (inside and out) It seems stuck somewhere in the middle around the air vents which I have also not been able to remove so I assume they are part of the dash. I have it loose but it will not budge near the middle and I am getting pretty frustrated and know I will start breaking things if I don't ask. Thanks, Conor |

It's been a few years since I removed my dash to replace my heater core, but I recently pulled a dash at a salvage yard to grab the AC stuff. As I recall, there's a metal bracket in the middle of firewall at the top, just below the windshield, that the dash has to go over. I think if you lift up on the middle of the dash and then pull out it should clear that bracket. Brian |

There are also two screws holding some brackets to the big metal brace going all the way across. You'll probably want to pull the whole brace though. This is not empirical knowledge, as I have unsuccessfully pulled my dash twice, only to put it all back on so I could drive it the next day. |

Three screws on top. Three along the door on both sides. Two on the side of the dash. A handful on the bottom of the dash. Cig lighter and AC switch. Radio, fan controls, trim piece. Ashtray, bolt behind ashtray. Believe there are some on the floor near the gas pedal. Steering wheel, glove box. Fan vents pop into place over each other, they pull loose when you pull the dash. |

Yep, found them. There were two bolts behind the ashtray/radio area and it came right out! Thanks, Conor |
