Hi All!! My new G10 is together. Delta XFI cam, 3-Tech 10 degree advance cam gear, new lifters, valves(stainless exhaust), 0.040 over pistons, resized rods, new oil pump, standard crank with Suzuki Bearings. The crank I had polished. The Suzuki Rod Bearings measured 0.059 , and gave just over .001 clearance. The mains were also at the correct max specs. The only way to go if not turning the crank to fit undersize bearings.(I mean buying undersize bearings and then having your crank turned to give the correct clearance) Those that are not informed... aftermarket bearings are not up to the max specs... Search outboard bearings for a good explanation. Combined from both sources.. rod bearings and main/thrust bearings.. I spent about $140. Invest in good micrometers if you are turning your crank undersize for bearings.. For cleaning the EGR passages in the intake I followed GEOGLENs advice of using aircraft cable( 1/4", 3/16", 1/8" ) running the drill in reverse in order not to unravel the strands.(winch cable, etc) followed by baking soda/ vinegar rinse. 4 Cylinder clutch n flywheel.(more surface area- lasts longer) I should be installing next weekend after loading a few hundred ton of alfalfa n oat bales. No rest for the wicked..

Hey datona paul! Remember we talked earlier when I was putting my geo together, Well since I have done the rebuild everything runs great! Im getting 190 PSI on all three across, and it gets 38mpg in city and about 43 on highway! That is pretty good for a rebuild! After I first put it back together it lasted 5 days, and then I was coasting down sunset hill through it back into drive and my Torque converter busted, I could tell that the torque converter was getting weak after the rebuild because it was making this whinny sound, So I had to pull the whole engine out pay $200 for a new one from trans star, And while I pulled the engine out, I bought a new marks head gasket and put that oil restrictor back in. After I did all that the car runs fantastic!

Thanks all.. and glad to hear it Paul... it was hard to help diagnose over the phone.. but your missing oil gallery plug helped me when I picked mine up!! ;) I took the block over to the machine shop and they 'plugged every hole n gave me a new restrictor!! next time I'll follow Geo Glen s advice and remove them beforehand. I'm working out a deal on my friends Kwik Way Boring Bar... :) He's not quite ready to cut loose the head rebuild / hard seat installer.. I have a Souix Seat Grinder(air), Stone Sharpener, and Stone Holders w/ a few guide tools. As far as the Geo motors go.. It is cheaper now overall to send to 3-Tech or in Spokane to Cylinder Head Service.. mainly because of resurfacing the head.. but doing it yourself is more rewarding!!
