Now that I have pretty much completed my 1.3 swap, it is time to start the next project. I have a nice original 91 in dark blue. I have had to change some body panels and the bumpers due to some damage. The hood is original, but I changed both fenders and the drivers door. I found a correct color 94 Swift at the wrecking yard. I installed the Swift front bumper on my 1.3 car. Here is the subject and some of the parts.![]() Here is the engine that I have run for 4 years in other cars, it has a 3-tech economy cam and a +10 gear. The tranny is a 3.8 that I rebuilt at the same time I started running the cam. I am using an 89 Xfi intake, distributor, harness and ecu. ![]() ![]() Here is the ecu that is coming out and the under hood sticker. ![]() ![]() Here is the ecu that I am using and the underhood sticker that geos with it. ![]() ![]() I have had to remove the dash to repair the heater, someone had dropped enough crap down the defroster vents that the doors inside the unit would not work properly. I had to remove the box and turn it over and shake. There were a couple small rocks and a empty 38 casing plus other small plastic toys inside. The heater controls will work fine now. I also got the engines swapped today, I need a couple small parts like heater hoses and an oil pressure switch. I will put the interior back together tomarrow and get the other parts on payday.

Well I remembered something today after a fight with this car. Don't buy junkyard parts if you can't tell why the car is there. I have two Xfi computers and both appear to have problems. Both will not turn on the fuel pump relay and one makes the injector dribble all the time. So after changing the tbi unit and the distributor I had my wife come out and crank the car and discovered the injector dribble. So I tried the other computer and still no pump but the injector stopped dribbling. The car was developing a little fuel pressure due to tank heating. So I jumped the relay and the car runs on the second computer. |

Your injector dribbles. ECM can not cause that. The reason it stopped is because the fuel pump stopped. You were better off with the old electronics setup, no EGR. XFI ECM make little difference in fuel mileage. |
