I heard that they work really well, but I also heard that they don't last as long. Do your research. |

Believe it when you see it. The gapless rings are supposed to be no longer available. Best to pick them up in person at a local parts place so you can leave them on the counter if they're not the right thing. |

Measure the ring width, know your diameter and contact Total Seal directly. If they won't talk to you, send me a PM. One of my facebook friends sold for them for 20 years, might be able to help. |

I no longer use Total Seal because of the probability of oil consumption problems. If one builds 10 engines using Total Seal probably 5 or 6 of them will use oil and this is after consulting with Total Seal and using every one of their suggested cylinder wall preps and methods. I am, in fact, getting ready to pull the 383 out of my El Camino and freshening it up using simple moly faced Speed Pro rings and will skip the Total Seal rings across the pond. Chiles and Alberts gapless rings were good rings to use until they went out of business so at this point, I would suggest using steel/chrome rings. That's what I used on my 1.0 liter Geo and so far it's trouble free, using no oil, and has 190 psi cranking pressure. This is with about 65,000 miles on it since the rebuild. Good luck. |
