How much primer paint and clear ?

I have stripped the paint off my 92 xfi using AIRCRAFT REMOVER and 220 grit, putty filled dings etc.

I used rustoleum dark grey primer in spray cans but am probably going to primer over primer with primer from the paint link here

http://www.automotivetouchup.com/choosecolor/choosecolor.aspx?year=1992&make=Geo&model=Metro

only cause i think the primer I used is darker than the original primer used and dont want the aqua blue to come out dark

I'm painting the outer body, outer door, outer hatchback and body door jams, not painting underhood or interior doors or door jams on the doors.

I am going to use the original aqua blue color from the pinned link in this forum.

So...

1- Already primered, putting primer over primer, how much primer do I need ?

2- Base coat Aqua Blue how much do I need ?

3- Clear coat, will probably wet sand 1500 ? and then compound it ?
How much clear do I need ?

You may want to consider two part prime. If you use rattle can, the paint will not stick. It will look like it is sticking, but it will peel with ease. You would be able to blow it off with an air blow gun.

Apply a few coats of prime, then block it down and see what you have. If the surface does not read right, fix your problem areas and prime again. Repeat till it blocks out nice and flat

If you had it to bare metal, and primed over the bare metal, you are screwed. Sand it back down to metal, and use Self Etching Primer, its specially formulated to open the pores in the steel, and help it bond. Once you prime with self etching, if you did body filler, use a high build primer, wet sand it, then you can paint it without worrys of paint faliure due to primer, as long as you do it correctly.
