there's an internal ramp that's extremely tilted. How he gets it up there? who knows, winch? He mentioned he swapped out the regular lead acid with a sealed lead acid Optima. |

He forgot to mention the reason he is selling it is because it cost way more than he will ever saved in the fuel economy of the metro.

Says it has a hydraulic lift. Cool idea. Motor home campers rarely worry about fuel mileage of the rig or RV. The car is to get around town after set up. |

I like it! Similar to this, I've seen a (much shorter) Smart Car stowed crossways, on ramps, behind the sleeper of a big rig. |

I guess they must have designed the metro to be shipped nose down much like the Chevy Vega was. The Vega was the first car designed to be shipped this way and had some other neat innovations although it isn't remembered for these, just the flaws. I would be concerned about fluids ending up where they don't belong. Conor |

I used to carry a bicycle on my headache rack back in my steel haulin' flatbed days. It was nice to get out and ride after ten hours in the driver's seat. I think it's a neat idea, but unloading and reloading the car may be a hassle. I'd rather walk. I agree about the fluids issue too. |

Why not just drain the coolant and oil before storing it? |
