Exterior Door Trim Removal

My '94 came with black trim midway on the door and body, and I would like to remove them to create a more clean look to the car. Also, the trim on my driver's door is damaged anyways (see pic, and yes, that is my driver's door). Just checking to see if this trim is simply held on with adhesive. Pretty sure there are no holes/clips involved, as not everyone has the trim on their cars.

Got boost?

Adhesive only. You can peel it off and it's going to leave a bunch of residue. I cleaned mine up with a razor blade and furniture stripper. Be careful not to dig into the paint with the blade and don't leave the stripper on very long or it'll strip the paint (obviously)

there are a couple of adhesive removal solutions that work really well. one is called "Goo Gone" and the other is called "goof Off". Both are available at Wal-Mart and are cheap but work really well. You can get a small bottle of Goo Gone at your local Dollar Tree store if you want to test it. Beats the hell out of razor blades.

Thanks. I have a few different 'Goo Gones' at the house. I also have one of those sticker/adhesive erasers for my drill, but may take it slow as to not burn the paint. .

Duct tape heals all wounds

Heat gun will also work, but don't leave it in one place long enough to warp your paint.
