Looks like fun. But I think your needing a set of 4.38s though. And no gears after maybe second. LOL

The automatic trans has no balls at all. I wanted to go with an auto to eliminate shift linkages getting mangled. After the trans is welded, the power will be even less, so maybe it's going to get a 5 speed swap through the winter. Not only that, the only engine mods are an underdrive pulley and a header. Maybe I need to contact 3Tech and see what he says would be best.

Since its a complete custom. What about making the shift linkage inside the cab with you?

I think an AWD would be a better application for muddin'. Maybe if you could import one from Australia?

Member Coyote X says he has a 4:39 auto trans that he is wanting to split the case and weld the spiders for full time FWD.

Duplicate the 3/3 powertrain and install it in the back. That would be a lot of fun, like an old Renault 5 dual engine rally car from the seventys. :thumb

I want to get it to the mud park at least once before the season is over, but I need axles and 2 lower control arms. I also need to fix the truck as a tow vehicle or put a hitch on the wife's Metro since I have a tow bar already.

you will need to dolly ecomudder, since its an automatic transmission, if its in neutral and your rolling it, the pump in the transmission will not pump fluid to cool the inners. Plus if the dif is welded it will make flat towing even worse.

I can leave it idle when flat towing.

Yes, that you can, but if the differential is welded solid, flat towing can be problematic.

Is that a challenge?

maybe do stick shift, but weld up a guard that goes around the linkage.

You should also upload a vid of you jumping it!
