I was wondering what would be required to change to these wheels, such as 14" or 15". Are they any benefits? |

Rpm reduction. Can save you gas if you have long crusing commutes. A little slower off the line but not usually a problem. I'm running 185 14's on my 1994. |

I run 15's on the metro in my signature with no mods... since it is an automatic, it would probably need 24's to get the rpms where they should be on the freeway. |

There is a list on here of what rims that will bolt on your car. I have 15X6.5 wheels on my 91 and the 205/50r15 tires are probably one size too big. The next set will be 195/50r15s after I wear these out. They are 23" tall but the width cost me 3 mpg. |

185-60-14 no rub at stock height personal experience ... in theory a 195 55 15 should be the same tire overall height and most have said "no rub" but.... with the 14s, little fender drag at lowered but that's hot roding nothing a little fender lip tuck can't take care of |

185/60-14 and 195/50-15 are both the same diameter as the stock 13" tires. Edited by Woodie, Aug 20 2012, 06:03 AM.

IIRC, I have 185/75/14's on mine. Could be wrong, it could be 185/70/14. Whatever it is basically changed my final drive from 4.39 to 4.08. for '95 and newer cars, no modifications are needed to put on aftermarket wheels and tires. I love my new gearing that I have, but if you lower the gearing and you have a hilly commute, you should really pair the wheels and tires up with a new camshaft for lower torque. You have a 1.3L though, so a new cam may not be needed. |
