My 1994 Geo Metro's check engine light went on this past winter and ever since then I have been getting less gas mileage and it hesitates when I accelerate. Lately it has started stalling whether I'm idling or trying to accelerate. I think it may need the oxygen sensor replaced but I don't know if these symptoms could be pointing to a bigger problem. |

Welcome to the forum. Start here http://geometroforum.com/topic/638390/1/#new find code and post the number here. We recommend performing a engine compression test and with a stalling issue you may want to test the fuel pressure as well. |

You can get the codes read at a local parts place but if you really want to know what is going on you can get a code reader off eBay: Search eBay OBDII code reader $20-$35 and one of the orange ones is what I have and it works well. Also, if your car has been running rich then it has been dumping excess fuel in the catalytic converter and this could shorten the life of the catalytic converter.
