I am going to be removing the black side cover to inspect my 5th gear, Shift fork and slider and gear. My questions are: How do you remove the pin holding the shift fork in place. Is this something you just pound in with a punch? Also, do you need to remove that allen head screw that has the ball bearning under it? |

Update: I bought a donor tranny ($135) from the Junk Yard and swapped in the 5th gear, Syncro, Shift fork and gear. My Metro now works and stays in 5th Gear. Thank you Geometroforum and fellow forum members for all Tech articles and the help! |
