The filler you use looks different than the old pink filler in a can with red hardener. What kind of filler do you use? Do you use spot putty after filler for imperfections? With your hardened primer do you even need a sealer? Nice job btw, that will look nice when all the trim is back on, quality work done right. |

The color of the filler is grey like the "Bondo" brand filler, but turns blue when you add the hardener. The home stuff (bondo brand) comes with a red tube of hardener. You can interchange the hardeners since the color is the difference. The filler itself makes a world of difference. Professional stuff blocks out way easier, lasts longer, and spreads easier. For filling pinholes and imperfections, I use more filler and apply it with a razor blade instead of the big plastic spreader. Spot putty does not have hardener and can shrink so I avoid that stuff. As for sealer, you are correct that the hardened primer does the trick. You may notice in the upper left of this pic that I have a plastic spreader buried in hard filler... since the filler does not stick to plastic, I can crack my spreader out of there and it looks like brand new. Kinda like in the old days when we used plastic ice cube trays. ![]() |

I will need the glass pretty soon for this build, so I had to get it ready for my tint guy to do his magic. While it may sound pretty simple, there is actually quite a bit of work to get that new car look. Below is a pic of what it looks like on the backside that you never see, and you can see the bead of urethane that held it to the car.![]() That urethane bead needs to come off, so I shave it off with a razor blade. Below you can see a section of it that I have trimmed off... ![]() Here it is all trimmed ![]() Now the molding comes off. I have been careful to keep the rubber molding in tact so that I can re use it. ![]() |

This sticker was too hard to razor blade![]() Thank goodness for air tools ![]() ![]() This crud that builds up around the molding is impossible to remove when the glass is in, so now is the time. ![]() I razor what I can off, then it takes about a half hour to completely polish the glass with #0000 super fine steel wool. ![]() The glass needs to look brand new before it gets tinted since we don't need steel wool fibers around the fresh tint. ![]() The backside gets the same treatment. When I get the glass back from my tint guy, I will slip the moldings onto perfect glass and set them in.

All five windows are at the tint shop now for 50% (barely anything) on the doors, 5% (limo) on the back 3 windows, and 5% on the windshield "fatty". That"s the tint strip that can be seen on all of my builds, and it comes down to just below the oem shading strip. With the "fatty", you never will need the visors again. I have a new windshield with that oem shading strip being delivered to my tint guy, so I will be picking up all 6 windows in a few days.

I will probably do the usual "seven", but am always open to suggestions... The "sevens" and some tires usually run around $700 to $750 for all four wheels and tires, spline style lug nuts, and the centering rings. There are nicer wheels and tires out there, but $750 is where I cap the budget. |

![]() I don't have any suggestions offhand, although I'll browse wheels a bit and throw you a link if I see any interesting ones. It's not that those wheels don't look nice, because they do... it's just that when you use them on every build, it starts to look a little same-y... |

Not a bad looking wheel... I wonder if there are rights and lefts? I will peek at those when I go to America's Tire. |
