The brakes need vacuum, and since this rig does not run an intake manifold, it uses an electric vacuum pump. That is what you see under the green box (charger). That pump is louder than most and does not belong on a snooty high dollar rig, but it is going to work on this thing. Looks like it has been around for a lot of years... The big cylinder thing is a home made vacuum tank, made of some 5 inch pvc pipe and some end caps.![]() On one end, threads were tapped and hose barbs were screwed in. This tank came with the car, but I discarded the giant hose clamps that held it in, and I mounted the pump instead of using the fishing line that was used to tie it to a wire harness. The little electric switch is used to turn the pump off and on depending on how much vacuum pressure is in the tank. One of those bigger lines goes to the vacuum pump, and the other goes to the master cylinder. ![]() |

This thing is the DC DC converter. I run high voltage DC from the main battery pack (144 volts DC) to this thing, and it spits out 13.8 volts that I route to the 12 volt aux battery for the lights n wipers and such. It takes the place of an alternator. Anyway, it is mounted in the driver side quarter panel now with scraps of aluminum from my scrap metal bin. Super light.

Here is the 220v 50 amp charge plug installed. It is my favorite way of charging since it is fast.![]() These are what I call "gateway" plugs. I call them gateway plugs because they are the gateway to the biggest charging network on the planet. I don't really charge with 110 much, but every home and business in North America has a bunch of these, so chances are pretty good that if you are out and about and run low on juice, somebody will have a place for you to charge. Remember that if you have an extension cord plugged into the wall, the end in your hand is female. That is why you need your car to have male pins. I have a bunch of these because I have two metros in the works, and a Cadillac in the works as well.

I know there had to be a lot of $$ spent on this build. I wouldn't mind making my geo full 100% electric but I Get so good MPG's it's not really a hassle. Now I might make my mud truck or v8 s10 electric lmao. |

Is your Cadillac going to be a tire roasting sleeper or a super plush quiet couch? How will your set up go on that particular car? |

Still working out the details of that Caddy build... I put on enough stuff to make it road legal. Took it out for lunch today. This one is a tire roaster! I will need to road test this one for a little while before making it pretty.

You can get by in one of these cars with no vacuum, but you can sure feel a difference. When you have vacuum, you can still screech your tires instead of using your horn. Try it sometime. Peoples heads turn like they do for train horns. With electric vacuum, you can turn it up a notch for a really easy pedal. 30 psi feels sweet. |

Time to make it pretty. I am not going to go as deep as I usually do, but for starters, I will get rid of all the dings and dents.![]() I have a white hood, left fender, and door, so they need to be "jambed" or painted blue on the insides so that when I close the door it is like a blue car inside. The hood in this next pic is about to receive my usual mod of having the holes for the emblem welded up so that I can get that clean look of no emblems. decals, or moldings.

I did not want to pull the glass on this one, since I want this to be a simpler build, but the rubber glass moldings were too shitty to mask off for paint. Anyway, here she is with no glass. Pulled the windshield, hatch glass, window glass, and rear side windows (quarter glass is what those side windows are commonly referred to. This will make for a nicer end result.![]() I hate it when the hatch glass molding gets like this. Only way I know of to fix it is to pull the glass and clean everything up, and then re attach the molding to the glass before re installing. That's what is going to happen here...

So I'm thinking... 1995. So, dash cancer. Especially in sunny California, right? You gonna swap the dash, or do you have other plans? |

I had not thought about the dash yet. Is there a known treatment around here besides swapping dashes? I don't mind pulling it out... |

Some people paint them with vinyl spray paint. If you swap the dash, then you don't need to worry about peeling, like you would with paint. (I am assuming, here, since I have not painted a dash; I swapped mine with a dash from an '01 sedan.) |
